Abdera Archaeological Museum

The Archaeological Museum of Abdera in operation since January 2000. The exhibition includes objects from excavations in the area of Abdera (7th cent. BC to 13th century AD.) And developed three themes:
a) Public Life
b) Private Life
c) Burial Customs. Of particular interest is the rich information material to the archaic city of Abdera and the report of everyday utilitarian objects of public and private life. Under the burial customs, the visitor is impressed by the representation of the tombs with the original frames and personal belongings of the deceased, wreaths, jewelry, toys, vases, figurines, just as found during the excavations.
